"Wink"

"So scared of getting older
I'm only good at being young" - John Mayer

I have really neglected my blogging as of late, but that was heavily due to the Institute Choir Concert, Stake Conference Adult session, and Stake Conference Sunday morning. I sang/conducted at all of these events, and so the preparation for these kind of consumed my week.

The Institute concert went quite well, I think. I really did enjoy conducting the three songs I did, and I felt like the choir did a wonderful job on my songs. It did feel like "the Jenny show", what with me being up and down numerous times for all of my activities. In the program I was promoted to Assistant Conductor, whichI was very excited for. Well, getting flowers at the end was nice, anyway.

The weather has been abs0lutely glorious this weekend, and so I have been doing a lot of walking. On Sunday we got a group together to walk in the cemetery. We then came back to the house and played games, followed by a viewing of "The Never Ending Story". o.k., Ashley, there is definitely innuendo in the movie with the stupid luck dragon, but I still maintain that most of it is due to our own filthy minds. Hey, I'll admit it!!

Take every opportunity to exhibit yourself

The weekend is over and I have only one week to get through. Can I?

The real question is why do I have some sort of allergy to saying "no" to people? Due to Cam and her holidaying, I have been asked to sing at the Institute Choir Concert. So, not only will I be conducting 3 songs, but I will be singing a solo as well. It will kind of be "the Jenny Show". (or maybe not. I may just be incredibly egomaniacal to say that) Whatever it will be, I think we can safely say that I apparently have a great desire to exhibit myself (be an exhibitionist?) in any way possible.

Congratulations to Greg this weekend for doing an amazing job at the "Adventure and Leisure Show" Your singing and playing were wonderful, and the fact that you did it so calmly while under the beady eyes of about 10 gazelles in the nearby African Safari exhibit just proves that you never lose your cool.

Remember the elephant foot?

don't worry, still repulsing all men. Or, at least scaring them off...

Apparently, talking to me makes you a jerk.

Just came home from the "Blades of Glory". Awesome!! (the italics imply that this word is sung in a descending minor third) I know this is the second post of the day, but blogging knows no daily limits, unlike many student bank accounts. Yeah. Best stop here before I say something really interesting.

Just really had one thing to say anyway.

I need to hang out with married people again

I am sick of many things right now:

1. The snow. Seriously, when will it stop? I just want to wear my new flip-flops from Old Navy.

2. My messy room. Remember how I'm supposed to be cleaning it right now?

3. My sick addiction to "The Facebook" It's like drugs. or candy. mmmmm...

4. Being far away from all the bois. I think I need to be in Edmonton very soon. it would be nice to be around males who are not repulsed by me.

5. Drama. Guess what everyone? I don't have it and I don't want it, so stop trying to pull me into it.

This angry post is just residue from the emo-music fest I was privy to on Monday morning. I think I will go to my room and listen to some cheerful music. First, I better check the facebook...

"What's the one thing you can't go without on a date?

This trifecta of awesome will not be attending any Manga conventions...

My love for "the facebook" is waning ever so slightly. The onslaught of friends requesting me has petered out, and I only see that others are "now friends". Hmm. So, I have cut my time to 1 hour a day. Oh, Facebook. I still love you!

I have been looking at pictures of Sam "the boi" Robertson, and wishing I was in Edmonton with everyone there. Just a quick apology to everyone here in Lethbridge for having to listen to my constant Jess and Adam stories. I can't help it if we were the l'original trifecta of awesome! Now Sam has taken my place, so I will have to hunt down Willy and Inuyasha. We can read adult (pornographic)Manga, and get matching trenchcoats. I think I will change my name to Naruto. Naruto Olsen. Yeah, that sounds real. Pretty soon, Inuyasha and I will marry and I will be Naruto Maloney. When we have a child, we will name him Gundam Seed Maloney. It will be at this point that Willy will have to find a new trifecta... and you see how this is a sad, sad cycle.

Curses on everyone who is not working tomorrow, as I will be manning the cash desk from 1:30pm until 9:30pm. So, if y'all are bored tomorrow night at say...7:30pm, come on in and say hi. maybe bring me a tall Caramel Apple Cider. (by the way, did I ever thank you for that?)
Ciao Bella

"Bearded enough lions to be a Daniel..."

12 hours in a car is nothing when compared with the concert I saw last night.

I went with Andrew to the Singers/Vox 40th Anniversary concert last night, and as anniversary concerts go, the OFS Pearl Tribute Concert was both briefer and far superior. First mistake I made: going with someone who will make me laugh at people's earnest attempts at choral music. Actually, Andrew and I were reasonably well-behaved. It was ony after 2 hours that he started texting someone, and I was day-dreaming, fidgeting, and sighing audibly.

Thre concert started out with a mass performed by Vox. This was the longest piece of music ever performed by a mediocre community choir. (Oh, hey- I was in Vox back in the day, so I am entitled!) Actually, they didn't sound as great as usual, and the piece did go on. There were some beautiful moments (Ah, Adam, I couldn't resist) like the Sanctus and the Benedictus, but on the whole it really stretched out for an unholy length.

The highlight of the night was a piece composed for the University's 40th Anniversary, and performed by the Singers. The text featured such lines as "ripped Caesarean-like", and "tasting the arts", and "Bruised by budgets". We had a dastardly time reading the "poem" without laughing aloud. Part of the song was people placed strategically throughout the audience who would randomly jump out of their seats to shout at eachother and at the choir. I know I am not mature enough for this kind of music...

And, of course, there were at least three thousand standing ovations, so Andrew and I were forced (very unwillingly) to stand, lest the composer of "Fiat Lux". who, coincidentally, was not that far from us, would force us to be "shouters" in the next performance...

Anyway, back to work today. It's been about a week, and I am somewhat glad to go back. I think. I hope someone put out the new movies.

Young people in love are very seldom...discreet

Remember how I'm never coming home?

We actually have extended our trip another day so we can do some more SHOPPING!! Utah is beautiful right now, and I think we are all trying to postpone our return to real life as long as we can. Plus, as I told Denise, absence makes the heart grow fonder...(although who is missing us, I really don't know)

So, Spring Fever has hit this town pretty early, because there were more couples on Temple Square than you could ever want. Some were even making out in front of us at Conference (Ahh! Jesus is watching and so is Pres. Hinckley) Seriously, you could not throw a rock yesterday without hitting a young couple in love. Mypersonal belief for this phenomenon is that Temple Square is like the Mormon Empire State Building. People agreee to meet there, and it positively radiates romanticism, what with the thousands of weddings there a day.

Conference in the Center was incredible yesterday. When Pres. Hinckley walked in, the entire room rose to its feet, and there was complete silence. The love I feel for him engulfed me immediately. He had a cane, but only used it to wave to people. He was so far away from us, but you could feel his love and devotion to the Lord and to all of the church as if he were right next to us. The choir was my favorite part of the session. In person they are positively magestic.

I hope everyone in Alberta is enjoying their weather!! Ha Ha!! It is absolutely beautiful here, and we will enjoy it today. Don't you worry about that, none...

See you when we get home!
